From the outside, the position of FA President may look simple.

Plus campaign sweet mop and all the other fancy stuff can make it sound as easy as counting from one to five.

Then comes the real question:

“Can you catch a fish alive?”
This is the real question. Notice the emphasis here is on the word alive.

Because anybody can catch a dead fish.

There is no struggle.

There is no skill.

There is no sacrifice.

Just throw your catch net into the sea and pick it up a dead jaboro.

Easy like one, two, three, four, five.

But can you catch a fish alive?

Can you do all that it takes to be a good President of FA?

Have you demonstrated the composure needed for the job?

Because getting a position is one thing.

Doing well in that position na another thing completely.

Anyone can make campaign promises from here to Jericho.

The real question is whether the person can handle the pressure, the responsibility and the unexpected challenges that come with the work.

“Why did you let it go?”

Wetin happen now?

This line is challenging candidates to look honestly at how they have handled leadership opportunities in the past.

What went well?

What did not go well?

And why?

It is also encouraging voters to look beyond promises and examine past performance.

Did the candidate demonstrate steadiness?

Alignment?

Results?

Protect the Institutions?

Because in this election, we are not hiring for position.

We are hiring for performance.

Then finally:

“Because it bit my finger so.”

It’s slippery, it bites, you need patience. You need to know how the institution operates.

That is why calmness, hands-on work and proven service matter in this election.
