The Old Order Changeth

Part of the continuing series: The Organization We Are Building

  • Series: The Organization We Are Building

Wonyamoeh!

Over the last 31 years, every administration in FA has left a mark for the next administration to inherit.

This election season, we hear a lot about change.

And change sounds attractive.

Sometimes very attractive.

But not all change is the same.

There is a difference between changing how we do things and changing where we are going.

If more members are joining the organization, former members are returning, the atmosphere is calmer, support for bereaved families has increased, and important programs and projects have been identified and are moving forward, then perhaps the challenge is not changing where we are going.

Perhaps the challenge is moving faster in the same direction.

Progress is change too.

The next President of FA will only serve for two years.

That is not a lot of time to reinvent an organization or rush to begin elephant projects.

But it is enough time to strengthen what is already working, complete unfinished work and keep moving FA forward.

Progress is change too.

Let’s keep moving FA forward.
